Enrolled, September 7, 1861, at Gowanda, to serve three years; mustered in as Captain, Company A, December 10, 1861; wounded in action, June 1, 1862, at Fair Oaks, VA, and September 17, 1862, at Antietam, MD; discharged for disability, June 18, 1863, at Washington, DC.

Commissioned Captain, November 25, 1861, with rank from November 13, 1861, original.
