Clayton A. Gardner

Clayton A. Gardner : 64^th Regiment, NY State Volunteers. Age, 21 years. Enlisted, September 25, 1862, at Persia, to serve three years; mustered in as Private, Company A, October 16, 1862; killed in action, July 2, 1863.

He is buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Gowanda, Erie County, NY. His stone lists him as being 19 years, 11 months when he died which would mean he was not 21 years old when he enlisted.
