According to the Adjutant General's Report, there was another William D. Wade:
Residence was not listed, Age 40 years, Enlisted on 12/29/1863 at Pomfret as a Private; On 12/29/1863 he mustered into "K" Co, NY 22nd Cavalry. He was rejected (date not stated).
