John Agan

John Agan: Company A, 64th Regiment, NY State Volunteers. Age: 36 years. Enlisted at Lockport, to serve one year, and mustered in as Private, Company A, September 8, 1864; mustered out, May 30, 1865, near Alexandria, VA.

Prior to being a member of the 64th Regiment, he was in the NY 8th Cavalry. He was age 33 years when he enlisted Sept. 11, 1861 at Avon, NY. On Nov. 23, 1861, he mustered into Company B as a Private in the NY 8th Cavalry. On June 9, 1863, he transferred into the Veteran Reserve Corps.

His gravestone says "Co A". He was in Company A of the 64th Regiment and Company B of the NY 8th Cavalry.

He is buried in the VA Hospital Cemetery, Bath, Steuben County, NY
