Captain Owel H. Willard

Owel H. Willard : 64th Regiment, NY State Volunteers. Age 29 years. Enrolled Aug. 17, 1861 at Randolph, Cattaraugus Co., NY to serve three years. Mustered in as Sergeant, Co. B on Sept. 7, 1861; promoted 1st Sergeant on Feb. 16, 1862; wounded in action June 1, 1862 at Fair Oaks, VA; mustered in as Second Lieutenant on Oct. 4, 1862; as First Lieutenant on June 19, 1863; wounded in action Oct. 14, 1863 at Bristow Station, VA; mustered in as Captain, Nov. 7, 1863; wounded in action May 12, 1864 at Spotsylvania VA and May 25, 1864 at North Anna River, VA; mustered out Sept. 6, 1864 near Petersburg. A-G's Report lists him as Orvel H. Willard.
