Newell Corrydon Morgan

Newell Corrydon Morgan: Company B, 64th Regiment, NY State Volunteers. Enlisted September 10, 1861 at age 19 years. He enlisted at Randolph to serve three years and was mustered in as Private, Co. B on September 20, 1861; captured and paroled, no date; wounded in action July 2, 1863 at Gettysburg, PA; transferred to Veteran Reserve Corps on February 15, 1864.

"Newell was assigned to Company B under the command of Captain Timothy A.C. Everett. Newell was wounded on the second day of battle at Gettysburg, '...received a shot from the hands of the enemy passing through his hip & private parts cousing a severe wound...'

He was born 13 Sep 1942 in Leon, Cattaraugus, NY. He married Mary Nancy Norton on 07 May 1865. They moved to Oregon, then Washington state, and Newell died in 1913. Newell had a son, Corrydon Thomas, and a daughter, Minnie."
