: Major, 64th Regiment, NY State Volunteers. Enlisted at age 29 years. Enrolled September 25, 1861 at Elmira to serve three years; mustered in as 1st Lieutenant Company G on November 13, 1861; appointed Quartermaster January 1, 1863; mustered in as Captain, Co. I, January 10, 1863; Major, not mustered, August 22, 1864 with rank from May 4, 1864; mustered out September 9, 1864.
