Bishop Beals
: On Oct. 5, 1861, at age 24, Bishop enlisted at Versailles, to serve three years; mustered in as Private, Co. A, 64th N.Y. Vol. Infantry, October 9, 1861; discharged for disability, July 31, 1863 at Fort Columbus, New York Harbor.
